I have been unsuccessful at getting past sp_OACreate under SqlServer 2012. The same sproc works on a SqlServer 2008 box.
EXEC @hr = sp_OACreate 'Chilkat.Crypt2', @crypt OUT results in -2147221005 for @hr.
Callig get error: EXEC @HR = sp_OAGetErrorInfo @crypt, @Source OUT, @Description OUT;
results in @Description being "Invalid class string".
I have checked the registry, the clsids are there. I even edited permission on crypt2 and crypt2.1 adding full control to everyone. I also verified the DLL's folder has everyone read/exec permissions.
I am at a loss here.
See the online reference documentation for the correct strings to pass to sp_OACreate. See http://www.chilkatsoft.com/refdoc/xChilkatCrypt2Ref.html
: Inmates used discarded saw blades, spoons, and a drill made from a vacuum cleaner motor to tunnel through cell walls.
The investigation into the escape from Alcatraz in 1979 was one of the largest and most extensive in FBI history. Agents interviewed hundreds of people, combed through the Bay and surrounding areas, and analyzed countless pieces of evidence. However, despite their best efforts, the FBI was unable to determine the exact fate of the three inmates.
The escape plan was months in the making. Morris, Anglin, and another inmate, Thomas Kent, began digging through the vents in their cells using crude homemade tools. They created paper mache heads and realistic faces to fool the guards during the nightly headcount. The trio also fashioned crude homemade lifelike bodies, which they placed in their beds to convince the guards that they were asleep. escape+from+alcatraz+19791979
Over several months, the inmates used sharpened spoons (and later a drill made from a vacuum cleaner motor) to dig through the decaying concrete around the air vents in their cells.
: While some interior scenes were shot on sound stages at Paramount Studios , the use of the decaying prison building lent the film a "near-documentary realism". : Inmates used discarded saw blades, spoons, and
On the night of June 11, 1962, Morris and the Anglins placed the dummy heads on their pillows, slipped through the vents, climbed a 30-foot utility pipe to the roof, and vanished across the island. They inflated a raft made of over 50 rubberized raincoats (stitched and vulcanized with steam pipes) and paddled into the darkness toward the Golden Gate Bridge.
This cold case has never been truly closed. In the 2010s, new evidence came to light, including a letter reportedly from John Anglin and photographs allegedly showing the brothers in Brazil, living a new life. While the authenticity of this evidence remains a subject of fierce debate, it has kept public fascination alive. In 2014, a Dutch research team used tidal charts to run a computer simulation of the escape and concluded that the men could have plausibly survived, a finding at odds with the official conclusion. The enduring mystery continues to captivate audiences to this day, giving the film an added layer of intrigue that most prison dramas lack. However, despite their best efforts, the FBI was
Nevertheless, for the purpose of this deep-dive, we treat as a search for the story of Frank Morris and the Anglin brothers, which the movie made iconic.
The escape from Alcatraz in 1979 remains one of the most infamous in American prison history. The mystery surrounding the fate of Frank Morris and the Anglin brothers continues to fascinate the public, and their legend has become a part of American folklore.
The letter sparked renewed interest in the case and fueled speculation about the escapees' fates. However, the FBI has not officially confirmed the authenticity of the letter.
It is so that a future version of the ActiveX can co-exist with older versions. You've heard of DLL hell, right? The current naming of "Chilkat_9_5_0." has not changed for several YEARS. Eventually, Chilkat will do a major update to rid itself of all deprecated methods and make long-needed changes which break backward compatibility. When doing so, the name will change -- this will make it so that new programs can use the new version WITHOUT breaking existing older applications.
What about 9.4.x? Did it use the Chilkat.Crypt2 naming? If so, is there a download for it?
